Sima Ostrovsky's creativity takes a special place in a number of the best artists of Israel, in a number of the most significant Jewish artists of the twentieth century.
Sima Ostrovsky (July Davydovich Ostrovsky) considered with disciple of Marc Chagall and Lev Yudovin, was born in Russia in Leningrad, on October, 18, 1938. In 1962 he successfully finishes the V. Mukhina Leningrad School of industrial Art. Since 1959 Sima Ostrovsky is exhibited at private exhibitions (P. Sokolov, M. Vershvovsky, Z. Krasovsky, E. Abezgauz, etc.). Since 1972 he is a member of group "Alef" (Leningrad, Moscow), in 1974 his work were exhibited at the exhibitions in the Palace of Youth and P. Gaz cultural center (Leningrad), in 1975 - in a cultural center "Nevsky" (Leningrad).
In 1977 Sima Ostrovsky moves to Israel. Since 1977 Sima Ostrovsky is exhibited at exhibitions of Jerusalem, Haifa, Tel-Aviv (Israel), and as at personal exhibitions at Turku and Helsinki (Finland 1982) Long Bich, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia (the USA 1986-1989), in 1989 in New York as a member of group "Alef"
Sima Ostrovsky's works are purchased and held in private collections of Galina Ostrovsky, Eliya Alim Bendor, Alexandr Okun (Israel), Pavel Sokolov, Geka Krasovsky (Russia), Mikhail Vershvovski, Lyuba Shpan, gallery "HALLON" (Germany), Jan Benua (Pushkin House, Antwerp, Belgium), Countess Meterlink, Count Jak d’Espine (France), Yosef Dajen (USA), Marina Vershvovsky (Sweden) and in national gallery of Israel.
In 1995 on September, 28 July Davidovich Ostrovsky has died and it is buried on the settlement’s Ishuv-El-Khana cemetery.
